Ok, so out of all of us who are going, who wants to be on a team for the tournaments?
I'm interested in the L4D2 and TF2 tourneys.
L4D2 - 4 people
TF2 - 5 people
Check the times for these. I know the TF2 is on Friday, so if you won't be there until Saturday, then don't offer.
If we get a team together, I'll be happy to practice as much as I can leading to the LAN. |

Shame I won't be attending. Want real fun? Make them play the Hard Rain vs. campaign. That one separates the men from the babies...(BABIES!). ^^

Hard Rain is fun but nerve racking.
Kid, love the challenge idea:

Crap...do you think we should actually start playing this game now? |

L4D2 is close enough to L4D that I don't think you'll have a huge problem adjusting. Glad to hear you like the idea, I'll be posting guidelines for how to set a bounty soon, stay posted. _________________ I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but shouldn't we just take the warning labels off everything and let the problem deal with itself? |

Good luck, Krith...there were actually small, major changes to the game. The Hunter plays a LOT different...is faster, harder to "push" away, but leaves a distinct trail when it leaps. The Smoker seems to have a shorter range, and the tongue breaks easier. Boomer seems to have a wider explosive arc when shot. As for the new, you need practice to aim the Spitter's glob, the Charger has ZERO margin for error (charges in a straight line, and does NOT hit a survivor even one pixel off to either side), and anything, including loose pebbles on the ground, will halt a charge. The Jockey is *very* much a finesse role...you need to be patient and pick off runners or stragglers. The fact the the four infected roles are mixed means you have to learn to adapt to what roles your teammates have.
As for the survivors...there are MORE common zombies, so you'll resort to your secondary weapon a lot more (melee or pistol). You also can no longer rely on the Hunter, Hunter, Boomer, Smoker combos from L4D, so there are multiple different types of ambushes you can get hit with. Pistols used while down have been SERIOUSLY nerfed...instead of being Rambo on the ground like in L4D, you'll be lucky to pick anything off. It's good for clearing common infected off you or someone else, but good luck nailing special infected. Melee weapons are nice...it's like a weapon "push" from the first game, except it does damage. Limitations are swing speed, and the fact that it replaces your pistol/pistols. There is a defib unit that can rez a dead player, but it takes the place of a medpack, so again, there is a choice to be made.
The maps are more open, and bring with them a completely different feel to the original game. I've found myself adjusting my play style accordingly. It just doesn't "feel" the same as the first game.
If you're used to L4D and not L4D2...I'd really suggest getting practice in. If you see me online, feel free to drop me an invite. I may not make Cryo, but I've played a lot of L4D2 lately. The game's grown on me.

It includes whoever GPA includes in their primary team. _________________ I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but shouldn't we just take the warning labels off everything and let the problem deal with itself? |

I don't even know if I'm going to be there. I'd like to but I really shouldn't be signing up for anymore lans other than gpa because of money and my erratic work schedule. _________________ I found that if you have a goal, that you might not reach it. I understand if you won't be able to make it, but it would be great to have you there Glitz. There won't be another LAN like this in the area until MassiveLAN, and we're getting more and more ramped up for CryoLAN as things get closer. You can expect CryoLAN to run a bit more smoothly than MassiveLAN, so it should be much more enjoyable for all involved. _________________ I am your enemy. I am your nemesis. I'm hoping Glitz and Easy make it. I know RR's not coming until Saturday. This means that GPA may be short when it comes to any competition.
I'd rather play by myself against insurmountable odds then to be on a GPA team with Voltaire. ;) |

Yea, I'd like to be there and I'll try to save up the money but I pay $80 a week on gas for commuting and the thursday before the lan I'm going to court to pay for a ticket I got. They're starting to give me more hours at work though it seems so if it keeps up and I don't have to work during the lan I may be able to attend. _________________ I found that if you have a goal, that you might not reach it. Just a thought. If you need a ride up and are willing to lend a hand, you might be able to catch a ride with me or Pope. That'll cut the cost down considerably. _________________ I am your enemy.
